Ticketmaster UK Ltd, a Ticketmaster Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ:TKTM)company, is pleased to announce the launching of two charity partnershipswith Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy and children's charity Sparks.
Ticketmaster has been working with Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy for manyyears now and have recently begun working the children's charity Sparks.Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy promotes health, well-being and socialinclusion through the skilled use of music with individuals, groups andcommunities who are challenged by disability, illness or injustice. Sparks isthe children's medical research charity, whose sole remit is to fund researchacross the whole spectrum of paediatric medicine, and their goal is for allbabies to be born healthy and stay healthy.
Ticketmaster has been a long-term supporter of Nordoff-Robbins and hasrecently increased its activity to help raise funds for the charity's work.The Nordoff-Robbins tartan clef logo is embedded on the Ticketmaster Scotlandwebsite enabling visitors the opportunity to donate directly and helps raisethe charity's profile in Scotland. For all events in the Glasgow areacustomers are presented with the option to make a donation to the charity,should they wish, before finalising their transaction. Not associated withany particular artist or event, this initiative has been offered for allevents in the Glasgow area, since November '08 and in four months thegenerosity of our customers has raised over GBP4,000.
Elsewhere in the UK Ticketmaster is working together with bothNordoff-Robbins and Sparks to raise funds through a number of methods,including online ticket auctions, Platinum Tickets and a new agreement withRedeem plc to recycle mobile phones. Ticketmaster's clients have theopportunity to help raise funds for these two important causes by offeringevent tickets for auction or by using the Platinum programme of variablepricing, with the extra revenue generated on each ticket being donated to thecharities.
Ticketmaster is also now working with Redeem to give our customers theopportunity to recycle unwanted mobile phones in exchange for a Ticketmastergift card. This gift card can be used as full or part payment to purchasetickets for all concerts and other events sold via Ticketmaster. For everymobile phone recycled and a Ticketmaster Gift Card claimed, Ticketmaster willdonate GBP1 to charity, with the amount split equally between Nordoff-Robbinsand Sparks. Customers also have the option to donate the full value of theirphone to be shared between the charities.
