Google marks Winter Paralympics 2018 with a colourful animated doodle depicting game events
Internet search engine giant Google is celebrating today with a colourful animation doodle, the opening day of the 2018 Winter Paralympics in South Korea. The doodle depicts each of the sports in which the sports persons would be participating.

In the colourful doodle, one can see para-athletes representing winter sports such as alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, ice hockey, snowboarding and wheelchair curling showing their exciting downhill race.

The 2018 Paralympic Winter Games, kicking off on March 9 with a gala opening ceremony, will conclude on March 18. It has been reported that 80 countries from around the world would be competing in the games this time.

The 2018 Winter Paralympics or the XII Paralympic Winter Games, is an international winter multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities that is scheduled to be held in Pyeongchang County, Gangwon Province, South Korea, from 9 to 18 March.

The official Paralympic mascot, Bandabi, is an Asian black bear that symbolizes "strong will and courage" as decided by the event organizers.

Competitions will be held in six Winter Paralympic sports, with 80 medal events in total. Snowboarding will be expanded into a separate discipline for 2018, with 10 medal events this time, it is reported.
